Geospatial Sensing and Intelligence Lab (GSIL)


We are a dynamic, multidisciplinary and collaborative research group at the University of Calgary. We aim to leverage cutting-edge AI, geospatial data science, remote sensing & Earth observation techniques to address urgent environmental and climate challenges.

Using big remote sensing and geospatial data, we develop next-generation AI-powered analytics to improve critical environmental and climate applications, e.g., wildfire risk prediction, Arctic sea ice monitoring, marine oil spills mapping, and Northern land environment mapping and monitoring.

We are looking for passionate new PhD students, Postdocs, and Master students to join the team!
