The study areas (marked by the ellipses) are located off Canada's east and west coast. The identified oil spills studied in this work are denoted by symbol ‘+’, while look-alikes are represented by symbol ‘▲’.
Given the strong speckle noise in SAR imagery, our TGSFCRF model can detect subtle and weak oil spills and accurately delineate the boundaries.
The ROC curves of 7 classifiers averaged over 100 cross-validation repetitions. The horizontal black line indicates the fixed sensitivity of 80%; The bunding and bagging approaches can outperform the other models.
